Kisah Walker

Papa memang dah lama nak belikan Z (mobile) walker. Dia cakap semua baby ada walker. Tapi mama tetap berkeras tak mau jugak2 belikan utk Z. bagi mama, kalau nak beli walker, biarlah nanti bila Z dah pandai berdiri dan memanjat, mama akan belikan jugak walker sebegini..

Reasons are: (from www.kidsource.com)
HOUSTON, Sept. 17, 1998 -- Despite continued warnings from physicians and safety advocates about the dangers of baby walkers, 90 percent of children under age two are still put in them. As a result, nearly 20,000 children are treated in emergency rooms each year for baby walker-related injuries.
"Even if a parent is nearby to supervise, a walker greatly increases a child's chances of falling, especially around an open stairway," said Dr. Joan Shook, chief of the Emergency Medicine Service at Texas Children's Hospital. "Nearly half of the children who use the walkers get injured." The devices, long considered an easy and entertaining way to occupy a child's time and provide exercise, can gather speed quickly -- moving as fast as four feet per second -- and put children at risk for falls and give them access to other hazards. The majority of children with baby walker-related injuries fall down stairs (80 percent) and many sustain serious head injuries. Other injuries occur when a child tips over in the walker, pulls down hot liquid or food, suffocates or drowns due to increased mobility in a baby walker. Because baby walkers are so harmful, Dr. Shook recommends the following guidelines for parents:
• Never use baby walkers with wheels
• Use stationary activity centers or walker alternatives, such as Exersaucers(TM)
• Supervise infants at all times.

Maka sebab itulah mama belikan play-centre instead (jumperoo)

banyak jugak country yg dah banned mobile walker. even kat sini pun, memang susah lah nk carik. 2-3 jenis jer yg ada dijual. all of them come with extra security like anti-slip grisp dan jugak extra large based supaya x boleh di pandu dengan laju dan x senang jatuh.

masa dekat2 birthday Z haritu, papa cakap dia nk jugak belikan Z walker. mama pun macam kesian jugak tgk Z yg asik berpusing2 setempat jer kat depan tv tu. i could feel his frustration. mesti bohsan jer asik2 kat situ jer kan.. so, mama pun agree lah utk belikan Z this mobile walker. dengan syarat, he can only be in that walker for not more than half an hour a day. n mesti di kawal rapat oleh cik bibik. jgn nak letak atas walker, kemudian kamu pegi dapur ker.. kamu pegi tandas ke.. NO! duduk situ, and temankan Z berpusing2.

At first he hates it!. tiap kali letak jer dlm tu, mesti meronta2 nk keluar.. lately jer dia mcm baru boleh terima hakikat bila didudukkan dalam walker tersebut. Z masih pun belum boleh kesana kemari dgn walker tu pun. stakat bergerak sikit2 kedepan or kebelakang aje.. (mmg 1 way aje rodanya.. tak boleh pusing2..hehehe) but he started to enjoy it lah.. baru sedar bahawa sebenarnya dia boleh pergi jauh dgn walker tersebut.. cuma dia masih belum tahu bagai mana nk memandu ke arah yg betul aje.. :) mama doakan semoga Z selamat lah setiap kali menggunakan walker tu yer..

video Z dan walker (mama sakit mata betul lah tgk colour walker nih huhuh)..

btw, dia bukan suka sebab duduk dalam walker tu. dia happy sebab boleh makan that substitute yogurt - from Alpro Soya. rasanya mende alah nih terlebih sugar lah. tiap kali kasik Z makan, mesti jadik hyper.. huhuhuh..
